NASCAR & American Politics
Lorcan Neill’s research explores the nexus of political communication and sports, interrogating complex questions at the intersection of digital media and movement building.
His ongoing dissertation involves an ethnographic study of NASCAR, incorporating participant observation and over 100 field interviews. Beyond this, his work examines how digital technology and artificial intelligence can be made more compatible with democratic life, with research published in leading academic venues such as Information, Communication & Society.
